This was a quick detox build to help keep me motivated during my GaoGaiGar buddy build with Anubispla. The base kit is very basic and Bandai really hits you with all the extra option parts. You only get a basic fist and holding parts and the expressive hands are extras which kinda hurts in my opinion. Still, compared to my recent experience with Kotobukiya’s offerings, this was an absolute walk in the park. The only seams are on the thighs and shoulders. Since the kit is pretty cheap you don’t get any water decals for the eyes, so I just left those as is and flat coated them.
The colour scheme was somewhat inspired by Ivy Valentine from Soul Calibur. I also used the custom pigtail hair parts.
Painting
White – Mr Color 306 base coat, Gaianotes White applied for shading effect
Flesh tone – White Primer, Mr Color Lascivus Peach preshade, followed by mist coat of Mr Color Lascivus Pale Red (60%) + Mr Color Lascivus Pale Orange (40%)
Blue – Mr Color Blue (85%) + Mr Color Purple (15%)
Hair – White Primer, Mr Color Lascivus Aura Lilac
Black – Mr Color GX Ueno Black (100%) base coat
